Join Francesca for a fun and engaging group reading club based on Diary of a Wimpy Kid!
This class combines reading, conversation, and creativity to help children build fluency and confidence in English in a relaxed, supportive environment.
What will we do?
We’ll read through the book together, with students taking turns reading aloud. As we go, we’ll pause to explore any new or unfamiliar vocabulary.
After each reading, we’ll have fun discussions and answer questions about what we’ve read.
There will also be optional creative homework projects—such as designing a book cover, writing a diary entry, creating a storyboard, or summarizing chapters.
With only five students per group, everyone has the chance to participate, ask questions, and share ideas. Francesca uses a Comprehensible Input approach, making sure every child can understand.

Francesca is a passionate and experienced English teacher who specialises in teaching young learners. With thousands of hours of teaching experience on Preply, she has helped children from around the world build strong foundations in English through engaging, effective, and child-friendly methods.
Her teaching is rooted in Dr. Stephen Krashen’s theory of Comprehensible Input – the idea that language acquisition happens most naturally when learners are exposed to language they can understand in meaningful, real-world contexts. Francesca designs her lessons to be fun, interactive, and tailored to each child’s individual level and interests, ensuring they feel confident and motivated to learn.
In addition to being a native English speaker, Francesca also speaks Spanish and German, which allows her to better support multilingual learners and connect with families from diverse backgrounds.
